North Star Driving Academy is a family-owned driver's education program serving Meridian, Kuna, Eagle, Nampa, Boise, and Middleton. We take nervous first-timers and turn them into calm, confident, defensive drivers. Every behind-the-wheel session is one-on-one, and our instructors adapt to how your student actually learns, not the other way around.

You'll know how every drive went. You will receive feedback on your child’s performance after the final drive, either in person or via email if you are unable to meet. The feedback will include what went well, areas that still need improvement, and strategies you can use to help your child continue developing safe driving habits.
Cameras in every vehicle. Our cars are equipped with One Step GPS, which records both the road ahead and the cabin during every lesson. Total transparency, every drive.
We come to you. We'll pick up and drop off at home, at school, or at a central meeting point. Scheduling works around your family, not a classroom calendar.
No waitlist. High school programs fill up months in advance. We don't run on a semester schedule, so students can start when they're ready.

Course Offerings
Three ways to get licensed, depending on how much help you want behind the wheel.
The All-in-One Plan — $435 Ages 14 to 17. Includes 30 hours of state-accredited online coursework, 6 hours of one-on-one behind-the-wheel instruction, and 6 hours of supervised observation. This is the complete Idaho GDL package. [Register]
DIY Driver's Education — $75 30-hour state-accredited online course only. Built for families where a parent or guardian will handle the behind-the-wheel training themselves. Requires a learner's permit before you register. [Register]
Custom Behind-the-Wheel Sessions — from $130 For students who want extra practice and for drivers 17 and up. Available as a single 2-hour session or a 6-hour package, always one-on-one with a certified instructor. [Register]

Getting Started Is Simple
Get the permit. Make a DMV appointment and bring the required documents. We've listed exactly what you need below.
Register and pay online. We'll enroll your student in the online course right away.
Finish the coursework. It's self-paced, and students have a full calendar year to complete it.
Schedule your drives. Once the online portion is done, an instructor emails you to set up three 2-hour sessions at times that work for you.
